We are seeking a highly organised and proactive receptionist to join our team in a role essential to the effective operation of the school. The successful candidate must present a calm and professional manner, have a flexible approach, and be able to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication skills and strong MS Office knowledge are essential.
Key responsibilities include
- Operating the school reception as the first point of contact.
- Managing phone calls, emails, and messages.
- Welcoming visitors and ensuring proper sign-in procedures.
- Providing administrative assistance using MS Office.
- Managing attendance records and following up on pupil absences.
- Liaising with staff regarding school communications and events.
- Supporting safeguarding, equality, and confidentiality policies.
- Participating in school events such as open days and term mailings.
- Maintaining a positive and professional school front-of-house experience.
Reporting
Reports to the Office Manager or Senior Leadership as required.
Person Specifications
Essential
- Previous school experience is a must.
- Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grade C or above or equivalent).
- Strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency.
- Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Awareness of safeguarding children issues.
Desirable:
- Experience in managing school attendance systems and administrative databases.
Hours and Benefits
- Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm.
