Role Summary
- To support teaching and learning activities under the guidance and supervision of the class teacher.
- To assist in the organisation and management of the classroom and pupils.
- To help create and maintain a positive, purposeful, and inclusive learning environment.
- To ensure all pupils have equal opportunities to learn and thrive.
- To promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in line with organizational policy.
Key responsibilities include
Support for Pupils
- Work with individuals or groups of pupils, including those with behavioural or additional needs.
- Encourage positive interaction among pupils and engagement in teacher-led activities.
- Provide general pastoral support and personal care where required.
Support for the Teacher
- Prepare and maintain classroom resources and support pupils in their use.
- Help set up and tidy the classroom before and after lessons.
- Provide feedback on pupil progress and support IEP monitoring.
- Assist with basic assessments and marking.
- Provide clerical support (e.g. photocopying, laminating).
- Assist with maintaining pupil assessment records.
Support for the School
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and inclusion policies.
- Supervise pupils during non-lesson times.
- Accompany staff and pupils on trips and activities.
- Attend relevant meetings and training.
- Participate in school events (e.g. open days, enrichment).
- Represent MindLynk positively to parents, carers, and visitors.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Support for the Curriculum
- Support literacy, numeracy, and ICT in learning activities.
- Perform other duties as required within role scope.

Qualifications and Training:
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (Essential)
Experience:
- Experience working with relevant age groups (Essential)
- Experience supporting children with SEND (Essential)
- Experience with general administrative tasks (Essential)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to support pupils with emotional or behavioural needs (Essential)
- Teamwork and collaboration in multidisciplinary settings (Essential)
- Understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities (Essential)
- Basic ICT and equipment use (Essential)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (Essential)
- Observational and feedback skills (Essential)
