Role Description

The Cover Supervisor ensures continuity of learning in the absence of teaching staff. Key duties include:


  • Supervising classes during short-term teacher absences.
  • Ensuring students remain on task and follow behaviour expectations.
  • Taking attendance and maintaining classroom order.
  • Supporting safeguarding procedures and promoting inclusion.
  • Reporting any concerns through established school systems.
  • Supporting and participating in whole-school training and development.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to uphold a productive learning environment.
  • Performing additional duties as required.


Reporting

This role reports to the designated Vice Principal or senior leader at MindLynk.


Staff Development

MindLynk values professional growth. New staff are supported through structured professional learning programs. Mentorship and development opportunities are facilitated by senior leadership and the People & Learning team.


Role Requirements

Essential

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade C or above or equivalent).
  • Strong written, verbal, and IT skills.
  • Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  • Classroom management understanding.
  • Commitment to child welfare and safeguarding.
  • Ability to use administrative systems and maintain student records.


Desirable

  • Awareness of safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with school policies.
