We are seeking a Business Development & Finance Manager to join the school’s leadership team and play a central role in shaping its future. If you’re a dynamic professional who can combine financial expertise with a flair for strategic development, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key responsibilities include
- Finance & Budgeting – Lead on financial planning, monitoring, and reporting; ensure the school operates within budget while maximising resources.
- Business Development – Identify and implement opportunities to generate additional income through partnerships, lettings, and innovative projects.
- Strategic Planning – Work closely with the Headteacher and Governors to deliver long-term goals for sustainability and growth.
- Compliance & Governance – Ensure all financial procedures meet statutory requirements and reflect best practice.
- Community Engagement – Build strong relationships with local businesses, organisations, and stakeholders to raise the school’s profile.
- Operational Support – Oversee contracts, procurement, and efficient use of school facilities
Person Specifications
Essential
- Strong background in finance, business management, or school operations (experience in education/public sector desirable).
- Proven ability to manage budgets, prepare reports, and support strategic planning.
- Innovative and proactive mindset with an eye for income generation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills; able to work collaboratively across teams.
- Committed to the values and ethos of a state school serving its community.
